Since 2023, Amy has developed an introductory and intermediate workshop series introducing basic power tool and building skills to women in the greater Humboldt County community.

She works with College of the Redwoods to host weekend workshops in which women can receive hands-on experience with power tools ranging from drills and handsaws to table saws to compound miter saws.

At each workshop, Amy found that more than the knowledge and skill of how to use the tool, what most women leave with is the confidence that they’ve had the capability all along. Throughout her workshops, she helps build communities of driven and competent women to support each other as they conquer whatever project they are working on.

This summer for the Spirit Weavers Gathering for both the Sun and Moon Sessions she will be hosting this workshop in the shade of Oregon’s pines along the banks of the Illinois river along with other incredibly talented teachers, herbalists, and makers,
